Would this phone work with an AT&T sim card out of the box and if so, what kind of bands (2G, 3G, 4G, LTE) would it work on?

unfortunately. the 822 won't work on AT&T since the 822 is a CDMA phone while AT&T is a GSM carrier

it is. but some carriers have different frequencies. the 822 is the same as the 820 on AT&T. but why did they make multiple 8xxx phones??? because they all have difference frequencies.

I read the Verizon HTC 8X works unlocked.
HTC 8X for Verizon shipping unlocked, works with AT&T and T-Mobile SIMs
Not the same for the Lumia 822? - 01-14-2013, 09:34 PM #6
I read the GSM function is unlocked at this point. They may lock it in the future. The Trophy which was CDMA/GSM was locked out from AT&T. You should get 3G out of it.
Bottom line, I'd get a GSM phone, not a dual band CDMA/GSM phone from Verizon.Check out the great deals on Windows Phone Accessories: http://store.wpcentral.comThanked by: - 01-19-2013, 06:08 AM #7
