Has anyone had any success with headphone controls?

I tried some apple controls and they didn't work to great. Only the center button worked (as expected) but it only worked maybe 3 out of 10 clicks.

I also tried an old pair of stereo blackberry with the single button. same behavior.

I would love to have some controls from my headphones, they are great for traveling. Anybody know of a good set that works with this phone???
