Do you notice that the back if the phone gets significantly hotter when wirelessly charging as compared to charging with a cable?
I've noticed that and wonder if its just me.
Also I saw in this post that the phone stops charging when full....is this true? - 12-14-2012, 07:53 AM #32

I would expect it to generate at least some extra warmth in addition to what you'd normally get. One of the losses through inductive transfer is through heat. Put your hand on the large part of your laptop adapter when it's been used for a while. That's heat generated by inductive transfer - the transformer in the box. It's a much larger coil than what's in the phone and the charging plate, but also the phone/charging plate has more insulation between the coils, so I'm thinking there's going to have to be more current flow to get the same charging rate. That would lead to the charging plate being warmer, and since the phone is in contact, it is going to end up warmer through conductive heat transfer. No surprise, and nothing I'd get concerned about, provided it doesn't get hot enough that you can't handle it (or something close to that).

I was able to pick up the 822 black Charging Back at a 25% discount at the time of ordering my upgrade. Very minor (if noticeable at all) difference in thickness. Charging back does not impact any cover (skin, Defender, Triton).
Charging plate and pillow are a nice idea, but liked the idea of the Nokia Charging Stand much more. Very difficult to find. Looks as if you can buy it off of the Nokia site, but the purchasing site directs you to one of the major US carriers. VZW didn't carry, AT&T was out. Amazon was out as well. Ended up finding one on the T-Mobile site and ordered yesterday.
I emailed Nokia about the compatibility. The Nokia pad is the same as the Nokia stand and both work with the 822 - as long as you have the charging back attached.MadDogFL62 - 12-26-2012, 10:18 AM #44
Has anyone used a fatboy pillow recharger for the 822? I went to my verizon wireless page and it said it was not compatible with my 822. I was assuming that it meant before the charging shell was purchased/installed because I can't see why it wouldn't work. Just trying to verify if anyone has used the fatboy with the 822. Thanks
