I thought I'd throw this out there since this issue happens to me even after a fresh master reset. Anyway, I've been playing around with the camera, and I've noticed a significant focus time and snap time. Even with the two-step shutter (holding down the camera button until it focuses) after snapping the pic, it takes a good...I don't know....3-5 seconds to take and then switch back to the lens.

Anyone else having this issue? Bear in mind it might just be me, I haven't fiddled with any of the camera settings yet.

3-5 seconds? No, it never seems to have taken that long. Just launched it now, and there was a 1 second lag after fully pressing the button, but every single photo after that was instantaneous. Immediately after snapping, the screen switches back to live view so I can take another.

hmm...i think i have it figured out. i changed default storage back to phone, and it's instantaneous as you stated, and as it should be. must be my basic level 16gb card!

Hey yeah, that sounds like the culprit! I imagine that this is why Microsoft refused to allow apps on the SD card, because they want to control the app experience, yet they can't control the speed of the card :P

Well, until you get a faster card, you could always plug in the phone to drag & drop from the phone to the SD card - that way you're not missing out on app space AND you have no shutter lag :D

absolutely! and i appreciate the app experience so I'm ok with apps not using sd space. looks like a high speed sd is in my future.

Really appreciate the post! Just was having the same problem, and changing back to phone storage solved it. I have a "Class 10" microSD in the card, but its a generic brand. Will probably pick up a Sandisk in the near future!

Glad I wasn't the only one! Yeah I'll have to get a high speed card too.

Hi! I'm having the same issue, figured how to switch to SD card and its faster, but the photos still come out blurry as if my hand was shaking. I previsouly thought this was due to the lag. Any advice?

Yeah, better shooting technique! Brace your elbow on something to keep your hands from shaking. Even bracing it on your own body will help. If you are crouching, put your elbow on your knee, it will keep the camera much steadier.

I'm a full time professional photographer so I'm quite familiar with camera shake blur issues. I've gotten great stuff from the 810, you just gotta keep the camera still!
