And as expected, no availability schedule announced for the U.S. Not really mad, just disappointed even though I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up in the first place. Am I correct in that it appears to have no front facing camera (not that it matters to me but gonna be a really big deal for some)? Haven't noticed it mentioned. Still may spring for one when it finally does show up here.

And a couple of Nokia Lumia ads
It's amazing for a new WP7, that it has no FFC.

Indeed. I personally couldn't care less, but I know there are some people who have been waiting for these that will have an absolute meltdown about it, and perhaps rightly so with the recent Skype acquisition. Me, I just want the Nokia sexy. ;)

I agree, its a feature i would never use, maybe messing about with Skype video Jbozz when it arrives. All my previous phones have had a FFC and never used them at all either.
Just seems so weird for a brand spanking new WP not to have a FFC, especially with Skype just around the corner.

Yeah, even though it doesn't affect me, I'm still a bit stunned that these would arrive without them seeing as how MS is pinning so much of their hopes for future success on these devices. Something so small yet so huge.

Could one buy this phone in Europe and use it on AT&T USA? Would it have the right bands, including HSPA? Would the micro-SIM work?
Here are GSM bands listed for phone:
Operating bands:
GSM 850
GSM 900
GSM 1800
GSM 1900
Data network:
EDGE Class B
GPRS Class B
HSUPA Cat6 5.76 Mbps
HSDPA Cat10 14.4 Mbps - 10-26-2011, 06:46 AM #11Thanked by:

Very disappointed. No FFC, and no 64GB storage option.
I has a sad - 10-26-2011, 06:52 AM #13
First off, I am surprised it's not pentaband (5 bands) then you wouldn't have to worry.
What you normally look for is the UMTS frequency :
Europe uses 900/2100
AT&T uses 850/1900
T-MobileUSA uses 1700/2100aws
The listing shows WCDMA of 850/900/1900/2100 I think WCDMA is the new 3G frequency designation for UMTS, but I am not 100% sure. It looks like AT&T is covered, but I would have to investigate the term WCDMA more.Check out the great deals on Windows Phone Accessories: http://store.wpcentral.comThanked by: - 10-26-2011, 06:52 AM #14

Speaking of T-Mobile bands..
I know the Lumia doesn't have the AWS bands so it will only get T-Mobile EDGE. Does anybody know if the data connection is independent of the voice connection on T-Mobile? For example, is the voice signal or quality the same on EDGE as it currently is on 3G?
I don't really mind the data speeds because I carry around a hotspot I could connect to for data anyway. I just wouldn't want my voice quality to drop as well. - 10-27-2011, 08:54 AM #25
Quite surprised that Nokia 800 is missing so many things that N9 has. Like NFC, 64GB option, front camera, bigger screen, N9 has 1GB of RAM and pentaband.
Don't actually mind as N9 owner, but still. ;)
To be seen will i get Nokia 800 or one of the many phones released next year.
