I've been trying to get Tap to Send working on a Lumia 620 I purchased for my Dad; I know it works between my 820 and my friend's 920 but it won't react between my 820 and the 620, no popup messages and no indication that anything is happening.

Has anyone seen this?

Make sure tap+send and bluetooth is turned on in the settings menu.

Yes, they are both turned on. Trying to negotiate a Bluetooth connection between the 2 phones also fails which is obviously a large part of the NFC and may explain why things are not working.
I have some NFC tags which I'll try out to work out if it's NFC or Bluetooth that's causing the problem.

Is battery saver on?

The battery saver option is on but not activated due to a low battery. I tried writing to an NFC tag today and both apps crashed out. Trying to read a tag the phone was unresponsive too.

I think it is just the one phone that is screwy. May be a defect.
