No worn or black edges. Hardware Revision 0003

mine all good, phone is black with hardware revision 0002

Worn Edges but back ok.

Revision 0002

Mine fine, revision 0002 but black in colour.

Mines fine also on Black 8X

Revision 0002

Revision 0002 here, Blue 8X. Had mine since Dec. 13 and it still looks fine, no black marks whatsoever.

This is why I was asking about the hardware revision number in another thread. It seems you must have got one of the first phones from the new wave.

When did you get your phone, and what carrier are you on?

I've got a blue 8X with hardware revision 0002. Have had it for almost a month now with no marking or scuffing.

Red 8X, hardware revision 002. Corners are turning black after about three weeks of ownership. The back itself is fine.

I have had a Blue 8x Revision number 0002 for about 3 weeks and no marking scuffing or peeling.


Do we think we nailed the reason for the discoloration down to clothing dye?

Well I i only wear jeans and navy tough scrub tops and bottoms and am a heavy user (over 9GB of data and 950 messages in one month with alot of Facebook, mail, and message checks per hour. Probably about, in and outie of pocket 2 times per 10 mins) and no discoloration at all.

I also have the blue one and also wear jeans and am not experiencing any discoloration.

I have a Blue 8x Revision number 0002 for about 3 weeks now, black corners and edge near the volume rocker.

Blue 8X 0002 owned for about a week now with no marks (yet).

I have a Rev. 002, International Unlocked.
Should the Verizon units not be a different Hardware Revision.

I have a Red Verizon 8X, worn bottom corners.
Hardware revision 0002.

Blue 8X had it for a week no discoloration or scuffing.
Hardware revision 0003

Any Rev 0003 from Verizon?

this thread is really good will show if the black is based on a bad batch or the coating in general

I've got the Californian Blue and looks brand new so far :).

Rev 0002 from ATT. Phone is still in perfect condition.

Surprised we haven't see and revision 0003 from any carrier but Tmobile (I Think!) hmm, and the people with Revision 0002, how often do you use your phone? I use my phone a lot (in and out of pocket every 5 minutes AT LEAST) so maybe the 0002 Revision with no black corners is due to light usage!

Rev 0002 blue OEM (from Clove) - all four corners are black and some slight discolouration on the back. It's such a shame :(
