Found a charging pad at my local Verizon store and had to pick it up. I'm loving this phone even more now that I can charge it wirelessly!

I love using the wireless charging as well. It's so nice not to have to fiddle with cables any more.

I'm actually wanting to get a Nokia charging plate and somehow integrate it with a ProClip holder for my car. After work, I get into the car, slide it into the holder, and it starts charging. And it can play music over bluetooth. No muss, no fuss. Very handy...and less wear on the MicroUSB port on the phone.

I have looked at specs and there is no indication that it is thicker. Also, I got the LG wireless charging pad and it works great as well. You can get them on ebay for around $40.

Regarding wireless charging...
My verizon store had an 8X on a nokia charging pad so I know it works. I compared the 8x to the 822 (ended up with the 822). The 8x is slightly taller and the 822 is slightly thicker. It's just barely thicker but seems more so due to the 8x's curved back.
I opted for the 822 because of the nokia apps (drive & music) and because it has a removable battery (the 8X does not). Wireless charging was something that I was looking for and both phones do it. - 11-26-2012, 10:08 AM

When I went in and bought it, only a couple of Verizon employees knew the 8x had wireless charging. The rest didn't, so one of the employees that was actually in the know, asked me to put it on the display charger that was out to prove it to the naysayers.
- 11-27-2012, 01:16 PM #22because my lighter adapter is in my center console, so it's a pain to get it off the cable if I need to deal with it. i'd rather just set up a pad right underneath my stick to drop the phone onto to charge.Originally Posted by patchulaz

What's the power requirements of the charging pad? Typical USB plug is .5 amps. palm touchstone was like.9-1.0 amps IIRC. Typical car chargers didn't provide enough amps for the touchstone. A DC to DC converter was the best solution.

Any of you who are using a charging pad: have you timed how long it takes from the low battery warning to fully-charged?
