    So, pre-ordered my Blue 8X on the 9th. Initially I had it being delivered to my apartment in North Carolina, but after it being delayed I called on the 13th and had the shipping address changed to my parents house in Ohio, which is where I'll be for the holidays. After it got delayed again, I called to complain and they promised the phone would ship the 19th with free overnight shipping (they actually said all the delayed pre-orders were being sent overnight) and assured me it would be going to the address in Ohio. Sunday I get an email from them with a tracking number saying it had been shipped out Saturday with two-day shipping to North Carolina... wtf?! Also, it has a expected ship date of the 21st (Wednesday) even though it shipped the 17th (Saturday) with two-day shipping, which makes no sense. So, I called them yesterday asking where the **** the phone is headed and they again assure me it should be going to Ohio, and they aren't sure why the tracking status says North Carolina. I have a feeling they have no idea what the **** they are saying and it's being sent to North Carolina. How are these people this incompetent? When the phones were initially delayed I mostly blamed HTC for late shipment, but now I completely 100% blame Verizon. This is terrible, especially considering Best Buy now has the phones and were selling them for half the price!

    Also, for kicks here is my tracking status so far... apparently my phone has been travelling around Memphis for the past 2 days

    manager called me back and explains in more detail that they discovered a system-wide error with the SIM numbers provided by microsoft which caused the warehouse to reject the orders coming through. he says it affected all orders placed for the phones and could count over 200 customers affected from his call center alone so far (Atlanta, GA). the IT department is working on a fix and they will begin shipping as soon as they resolve this issue.

    at least they're owning up to something at this point. the wait continues...

    also, I've escalated my concerns with our business account specialist who is talking to corporate about it.

    ...this might be have implications linking all the way up to the highest positions in government! </conspiracy_theory>

    This makes sense. I couldn't buy one in-store on Saturday at 2 locations due to some system error. My phone finally just shipped today at 150pm, however it will arrive when I'm out of town since shipping did NOT get upgraded to overnight. It requires a signature, I'll be gone for 1.5 weeks, so in reality, it'll either get held at fedex, or shipped back to VZW. I'm going to the store today to buy it in person and will return the shipped item somehow. What a f'ing mess.

    Yup as soon as I complain here and on twitter, I miraculously got a tracking number. Of course its 2 day and not upgraded to overnight thus will get to my office during the Thanksgiving holiday when no one will be here. And it's coming from West Chester PA thus debunking any theories/reports that the phones are in CA

    I finally got a tracking number on the web site and also got the email with the info. Unfortunally if I track the number on FedEx, it does not show any information yet. The status check on verizon's web site says ship date 11/17/2012 which is the date when I found out the credit card had a hold for the amount of my order. When I called CS today they told me that FedEx will pick up the phone today and then I would have my tracking number, and that is what happened but I don't know if it was picked before since it says the ship date was Saturday. What a pain this has been. The last time I order a phone from Verizon.

    I pre-ordered a red phone right at 1am on the 9th. I just called Verizon and the (admittedly confused) representative said he was showing a ship date of the 27th. Who knows but possibly the first date any red phones are shipping is the 27th.

    Just got my tracking number with a overnight delivery of tomorrow by 3pm. hopeful! We will see what happens. I see it just left Westchester PA though...

    Ok , my FedEx tracking # finally is showing info. Customer service told me the phone will be shipping overnight because it was a preorder. As many of you have posted this is bull **** and it was shipped 2nd day. Because of the holiday it will be delivered on Friday the 23 by 7:00 PM. I don't know how accurate the delivery time is. I better keep an eye for the truck all day just in case. The saga continues...

    My phone has been kicking it in Memphis for two days as well. It would make it appear as though they need to over night it in order to meet there expected deliver tomorrow... but I'm guessing the tracking isn't quite as accurate as UPS. I've always been impressed with UPS, I think they could tell us what corner of the block a package is sitting on in an idling truck if they wanted to. If my phone doesn't show up tomorrow as expected, this could get ugly.

    For the record, I noticed all of our times are the exact same other than the initial "picked up" entry. So it appears our phones may just be hanging out together getting to know one another in downtown Memphis. But one of us needs to break this little party up, because my phone's gotta make it to the MN/WI border by 7PM tomorrow! This could be an ugly break up!! ;-)

    mine says it actually departed memphis around 3:25 today after hanging out in memphis since sunday. with a delivery tomorrow by 7pm. which is just great because I'm leaving the state in 4hours and won't be back until saturday. hooray! \o/

    hahahahah, yes and my phone needs to make it to Ohio by that time! Hopefully they had enough time to talk out any "issues" and blow off some steam so they are behaving nicely when they make it to us.

    Not sure where you are in Ohio, but mine was 2 days to the Dayton area with no issues.

    I just took a quick look at the tracking and see my phone made it to Minnesota this afternoon so I'm in good shape. Sorry Jonko if you got jerked around by VZW and they told you they would get it to you and Ohio only to find out it went to NC anyway. There is simply no excuse for how wrong this pre-buy fiasco went, but for customer service to tell you they could reroute the shipment and even to have "verified" that it was rerouted only for you to find out it wasn't is... well.... absolutely terrible business. Lucky for Verizon they do have good coverage once you get the phone. I guess that's what they pride themselves on and what they focus their efforts on.

    I called and cancelled my pre-order yesterday with Verizon. They said I could go pick up a phone at Best Buy. When I got to BB and the sales rep pulled up my account it shows that my upgrade was already used. I called Verizon on the spot and asked if they could correct this and they said they need to receive confirmation from Fedex that the order was cancelled and this could take up to 24 hours. I called Fedex today and they confirmed they received an order to cancel. When I checked my upgrade status on the Verizon site it's still showing wrong. This experience has just been exhausting. To make matters more frustrating I got a call a few hours later from a rep at a local Verizon store to tell me that they just received a lot of the blue WP8X's. My hopes of having this phone before Thanksgiving to give me something to focus on and keep my attention while I'm stuck at my in-laws are crushed.

    Well, my Verizon Blue 8x arrived. Seems to work. A few hours, no reboots. We'll see what happens. Happy it's here.

    Would Verizon be able in any way shape or form match Best Buy's $100 price? Soo unfair to pay more, but I'll be going on vacation and can get my blue 8X now at a Verizon store after having cancelled my preorder. Best Buys don't have 'em yet... would be great if Verizon would match the price... but I know it's probably not going to happen when I try it.

    Well, finally I got my Blue 8X. Fedex delivered at 2:45. The phone is beautiful and I am happy to finally have it in my hands after all the bull**** we all went trought. I wanted to ask you all if you got earphones with your phone. I only got the charger and the usb cable. I remember seeing videos of the unboxing of the phone on the web and they showed earphones. Maybe were phones from the UK and they get different things than in the US. No big deal because I know they don't give you good quality earphones but I was curious if you guys got the same things.
