Glad I canceled my pre-order yesterday. Went into the store today and picked up my new 8X. I'm loving this phone more than the Lumia 920 (primarily because of the size).

Just for ALL of you to know who are going in-store...
I just got my 8x. Absolutely FANTASTIC. I called 6 stores, and one finally had 4 come in! Got the black, and I'm GLAD.
It seemed shipments were JUST coming in, so keep calling guys! Loving this device... - 11-15-2012, 03:40 PM #483

I'm scanning the Verizon specific one but it's a fold out pamphlet that is about 2 feet long. I'll post it when done.Thanked by: - 11-15-2012, 03:51 PM #485
Hmmm, my posting went into the nether world, so here it is again :)
I received a shipping confirmation email from Verizon at 11:31am CST today. Spent the rest of my time trying find if both phones we ordered are in the box. The FedEx page shows 2lbs shipping weight.
Anybody wanna venture a guess as to whether 2lbs is enough for a Droid 4 and HTC 8X in retail packaging with no extra accessories? I did notice that Verizon charged the full amount for our order, so that is another check in the 'looks like its in the box' column.
This has been a huge pain. According to FedEx, it should arrive Monday, so we will see.
Stuff happens, but Verizon not really knowing what is going on is the worst. The customer resolution specialist Clint couldn't tell me for sure what was inside the shipping box. Amazon could. Newegg could. Arg!! - 11-15-2012, 03:53 PM #486Thanked by:

Got a black 8X at the Verizon store at Bridgeport Village in Lake Oswego, OR (Portland.) They got 4 in stock, and they arrived about an hour before I got there.
They did have a California Blue display model that they were setting up as I was looking at the 822s.
I had a preorder for a California Blue 8x, but I'm glad I went black. The California Blue is just too purple for me.
I knew it was bad, but the speed and responsiveness of the 8X makes me realize how absolutely horrible the Trophy was.
The in-store display was nice and the manager was directing people to the "Windows 8" phones when they walked in. All the employees had WP8-related shirts on too. - 11-15-2012, 04:39 PM #494
Funny you say that. When I saw the display one here in Scottsdale, I thought it looked a lot more purple than the AT&T model I looked at in Best Buy the other day. Probably lighting differences. I've decided to stick with it; I guess it's not too purple for me. But I can see where others wouldn't like it. For me, the black is just too "standard issue" these days and I haven't warmed up to the red.
Also meant to add that for me, my Trophy hasn't been bad. Maybe I'll change my mind once I get my 8X.
Happy for you that yours arrived! - 11-15-2012, 04:41 PM #495

Ironically, the red is not to far off the garnet color of Florida State (GO NOLES!) which is where I went to school, but it still didn't do it for me. Rest assured, if they made it in an orange color (think florida gators or miami hurricanes), I would have shunned it just as fast as you did the California Blue. :)

Well, I went to the store and got to hold a beautiful 8x in my hand. I tried to buy it and cancel my preorder. They couldn't do so because my preorder was in "process." Not shipped, but in "process," the same thing it has said for ages on the website. No tracking info or anything either, so I guess I may not ship today nor will I be able to purchase it in store.
