My first day with the 8X today. Had a long ride today (100km) so didn't really get a chance to play. But here are some pics i took (Albeit slightly rushed)

Very happy with the performance. Very very good. I still don't understand why HTC make their phones so that the focus is made before the flash. It should focus with the flash on, because at the moment shots with flash are just blurry and annoying.
EDIT: Forgot to add, a 1080P Test, and the unboxing. It's long and i ramble but if you stick through it well done!

Thanks for the pictures! They look great!
One question though, I noticed that a lot of people had issues with the Flash. And as alexbaldwin said, it focuses before the flash.
Any chance that this issue can be fixed in a software update by HTC in the future if ever? Or is it in the hardware side?
Thanks! - 11-11-2012, 07:07 AM #53HTC 8X, Nexus 4 (Soon), SGS3, HTC Titan, HTC One X, iPhone 4S, Omnia 7. I love phones!

looks like all the indoor pics have a green tint :(
my dell venue pro does this, albeit a lot worse, but it's very annoying - 11-12-2012, 11:22 AM #57
Adding some more low lightshots https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resi...JVQ5ByhX3j5JBw
Looks like changing the ISO manually rresults in better low light performance.

Well, my statement assumed a baseline of available smartphones; both the iPhone 5 and the GS3 (as well as the aforementioned Pureview 808) best these results handily. That said, I generally agree with you. A DSLR is for the shots you need.
That said, it's not a bad thing to have a good camera available for the shots you don't expect. - 11-13-2012, 03:59 PM #62
Actually I have seen a number of reviews saying the 8X beats the GS3 when it comes to the camera and its pretty much around the same as the iPhone 5.
But all of these are fine for a phone camera but none are going to be amazing because of their tiny sensors etc which is where the 808 is great because they increased the sensor size which is very important. My WP History: HTC Mozart / Nokia Lumia 800 / HTC Trophy / HTC 8X

Here are some rushed photos I took early this morning. I want to take some more tomorrow including some with the FFC and also try the video recording.

I took this picture today in a bowling alley. I thought it came out pretty good considering the low light. One thing I'll say is that I changed the ISO setting to 400. In auto, it would probably use the highest iso of 800 and that would cause lots of noise. For those that don't know, lower ISO number = less noise, but you can only take pics in bright light or sunlight. high ISO = lots of noise, but you can take pictures in low light.

An example of an HTC 8X photo. My experience seems to echo most people's...day time snaps are perfectly acceptable, sometimes pretty impressive...night time pictures lacking something. And yes, HTC need to sort the flash/focus issue!
