If I was still in the UK, I'd pick up an 8X, unlocked, and go on a 3 SIM.

Yeah that has to be the most disgusting price I've seen, after that pre-paid card that offered 2MB of data for 50 dollars. (not that wasn't a typo, 2MB not 2GB, not 200MB but 2MB).

I'd seriously wait for Three. They're set to stock both the 8X and 8S. I'm only paying £25/month for unlimited data. We've reached out to the carrier for availability information, waiting to hear back.

I've been with O2 for years and have been happy with them but I'd love them to raise data limits. That said I also have a 3uk sim with AYCE data :)

Well i am with o2 and i think i must have got a limited time offer or something... Free headset with unlimited minutes, unlimited texts, and 1Gb of data for £36 monthly.

I have the 8X from three on PAYG, £350, plus minimum top up, and it is unlocked. Tested with a vodafone sim.
