Firmware version, Radio software version and Bootloader version were changed for me. Here is what I have noticed so far:
- the OS feels more fluid
- no need to relaunch People hub after signing in with messenger
- headphone button starts playing music while the display isn't on (it wasn't like that before, at least for me. you had to have your display turned on, locked or not, but turned on. thankfully that changed after updating)
Didn't notice any other changes, but overall my 8S feels more stable and fluid - 03-22-2013, 08:28 AM #10
If anyone interested here's specific numbers:
Firmware revision number: 1030.54.10403.411 -> 1030.54.20001.411
Radio software version: 1.11b.3054.25_10.13.30.54P ->1.13b.3054.31_10.18.30.54
Bootloader version 0.0.1030.54(159870) -> 0.0.1030.54(164172)
Also noticed than in "About" page line "SIM ID 0: XXXXXXXXX" has been removed. - 03-22-2013, 10:08 AM #12
yep, got the same update a couple of minutes ago, it downloaded about 400+ mb, took about 15 min in total to install. The update process was smooth, and it didn't use any space as far as i can see, i have the same amount i had before the update, everything works fine, and indeed the UI feels smoother, and for some apps, the loading time is less now, so overall i like this new update, and it is not portico, because i had portico, the phone came with it, this is something else.

I bought an 8S from my carrier in January and I just got two notifications about an update. One is from the "Phone update" feature and requires me to make 420MB of storage free. The other one is a SMS from my carrier that I should send back my phone, so that they can update it (it was suggested by HTC, they say)... Could it be the same update? Will I be OK if I just do the Phone update and not send the phone back to the carrier? Thanks!

I haven't noticed a bigger battery drain so far, and sms works fine. If you don't have enough space, try uninstalling some big apps, and also when you fill the memory with shrink storage, use the phone for a while before releasing it, it will make WP free more space from the other section.
