hi, i live in Australia and i noticed that Google maps was blocked months ago, even before its news was published here on wpcentral. so back then i did a search on Google and i came up with link below and allow me to use Google maps on my Lumia 800 on the browser:

NOTE: the options/control that this map provide are difficult to work with, meaning that you have to tap several times (not quickly after each other) on each item on map to work. I can get direction, find my position on this link and works fine.
This was only tested on my Lumia 800 in Australia( as you can see on the YouTube link i provided above). Please try it yourself and give your comment below.
UPDATE: It's working on lumia 610 (UK) but not lumia 920 (UK)

Just tried on my Lumia 920 WP8 and it redirects the browser to the google.com page. (UK)

It's a bit rubbish but works on my 920 ( UK )
