WP Needs "Custom Hubs" or Folders That We Can Create, And Customize, For Specific Content Of Our Choice To Be Grouped Together.. Here is a letter that I sent to Michael Stroh of the WP team on the WP Blog. Let me know what you think......

May 25, 2013

@ Michael...

I'm not sure if you know who to talk to about this, but It's time we were able to create our own custom hubs, or folders, that we can pin to the start screen. I know exactly how it could work.. From the start screen if we long press on any blank spot a menu with the option to create a new hub will pop up. If we choose to create a new hub we will be given the option to choose between templates. For example, a hub for grouping specific apps together, or a hub that we can choose to make password protected so that we can file "secret" pictures or files. These hubs will automatically pin to the start screen, and app menu in the area where we originally long pressed the screen.. We should be able to name our hub, choose between different "modern" themes, and select a accent color for our custom hub.. Going to files, like a picture, would have the option to "move to" one if the custom hubs we have created, keeping in mind what what type of file it is, and the type of hub we have created. So, a picture would not be given the option of moving to a "custom games hub" The custom hub feature can be carried throughout the OS giving us options to make "folders" in existing hubs like games, music, or even Kids Corner. Another example of a custom hub.. If we were to create a CH in the music hub we would be able to add only certain songs, or albums, that we choose for that "folder", or CH. The custom music folder would have a option to play that folders music only. Of course the files will still remain in the original music hub, but the folder would have its own separate link. So, I can just imagine the possibilities if something like this were implemented throughout the OS where it would seem fit.

Regardless, whether my idea, in the fashion addressed, is a good one or not we need some type of custom grouping system that is easy to use on WP.. After all, it is called WINDOWS Phone.. Lol!!.... DO IT!

Thanks for your consideration.

Microsoft and windows phone 8 : To be or Not to be

Windows Phone 8 is one of the best mobile operating systems. It is very smooth and unique and it has acceptable hardware if we compare it to Android...

Windows Phone 8 is one of the best mobile operating systems. It is very smooth and unique and it has acceptable hardware if we compare it to Android Hardware. However, the hardware is capable of running the OS very smoothly even better than some quad core Android devices.
So the hardawre is not a matter to us and it will not affect the growth of WP8. But there are many-things wrong on the software. Maybe you will think I hate wp8 or something but I don't. Lets talk about one of the main software issues.

Games
Games are the main concern for mobile-gamers and they are many! The issue is with the graphics and with the versions of the games coming to wp8. The graphics of some games are awfully bad since the developers of those games make the game work on 0.5 gb ram and 1 gb ram phones. Then why we bought those 1 gb ram phones? is it for the camera alone? Of course not! The solution is to make different versions of each game specially the ones that require high end hardware. For example, real racing 2, the graphics is so bad compared to even iphone 4! Lumia 920 has much better hardware specs, yet the graphics is bad, why is that? Are we just gonna say good thing about wp8 and forget about these important issues? Moreover, the version of real racing we have is 2 while the other OSs have 3...Whats wrong with you EA? or what are you doing Microsoft? why you are not moderating the Store and deleting all bad quality games and enforcing developers do bring the same quality and versions of games available in other plafroms.

Hey Guys, I just tried to do the Microsoft Store App wheel spin, and 2 nights ago I was able to just click the tile that says "Win with WP" and it took me to the wheel. Today It took me to a page with a WP demo web-app (which does not work on my L900), and then proceeds to play a 1 min video of how to use the demo. SO I can't participate in the contest anymore.

Anyone else seeing this? Did they change the format of the contest or is it just me?

Hey Guys. I think the strategy that they are using against Google. is a very effective strategy against over companies that aren't cooperating with MS. for example Instagram. MS can make a app using third party API and get Instagram pissed then if they still don't cooperate they'll have to admit that they are hypocritical and then MS can drag them into court that they don't want to. therefore forces instagram to cooperate with MS . or simply cooperate with Microsoft to create the app.

Do you think this is effective and use it against other companies e.g Instagram??

I think yes.

just my 2 cents :D

It would seem that Microsoft's "Direct Action" policy fell flat on its face. That gauntlet has been apologetically picked up.

Now perhaps they will get around to fixing what is wrong with WP rather than crying about how nobody makes apps for them...

Don't see a thread for this but you guys know those $10 promo codes that MS gave out for signing up for notification on the Xbox One a couple of days ago? Turns out those codes don't seem like a one-time use only thing. You can buy 1200 MS points ($14.99) for $4.99 with that promo and it seems like you can do it over and over again which is basically a 66% savings. Best hurry!

Also, MS is awful slow at the delivery time - it took something like 10 hours before the codes got sent to my email.

Hi all,

Hi all,

I'm guessing there are a lot of Microsoft... evangelists (I won't say "fanboys") on this forum, which is a good thing, 'cause I consider myself one as well. Microsoft has been providing me with technology and new stuff my entire life and I like to be loyal to a certain brand or product. Next to that, I don't like Google's philosophy and attitude. Same goes for Apple.
But as technology becomes more important and more prominent with every passing day, I find myself worrying a lot about the future and the ongoing battle between Microsoft, Google and Android. And I don't like that. I don't wanna be someone whose mood is influenced by some big faceless multinational company's decisions.

So, my question to you is: how do you keep a clear head when you hear hateful stuff/news about Microsoft? Because let's face it, there's A LOT of hatefull stuff about Microsoft going around on the interwebz.

I'll make a little list.
Things "people" hate from Microsoft:
- Windows 8
- Windows Vista
- Bing
- Internet Explorer
- Xbox One
- Steve Ballmer

Things "people" love from Microsoft:
- Windows 7
- Bill Gates
- Office
-....

I think Google-evangelists have it a lot easier. Everything Google does is "good". They're funny, they have easter eggs, they're your friend, they just want to improve the world of technology, etcetera etcetera. No one ever writes something negative or hateful about Google. But us Microsoft-loyalists, we have to endure with tons of negative Xbox One publicity and thousands of jokes about Internet Explorer and Bing. How do you shrug this off and keep a clear mind without getting angry? Please, some psychological advice
