With the iphone i used to use winscp on the PC to wirelessly ssh into my phone to add music, comics etc, so that I didn't have to use god-awful itunes. Is this possible with my windows 8 phone. Don't get me wrong, I know I can drag and drop music, videos straight into my computer, which I absolutely love, and was exactly what I wanted with my iphone. The main problem I am having is comic book apps. At the moment I have to download these through dropbox, and it just seems inelegant. I don't even know what I should be searching for to find more info, is it ssh tunneling?

Yesterday I transferred a ringtone from my computer to my Windows phone. But now my phone doesn't see it.
It's 24 seconds long, a mp3 format, placed inside of the ringtone map, and it's 500 kbs big. I'm hoping someone can help me because neither Vodafone nor HTC themselves can help !!!

Recently had a HTC windows 8S and although I'm really happy with the phone there is an annoying glitch. If I turn on my mobile data connection I can't get accesss to the internet. In order for it to work I have to switch the phone off while the connection is enabled and then back on. From then on, no problem accessing the internet as long as Ieave it on. I don't want to leave my mobile data connection on continually due to data useage limit. I've tried everything from factory reset, new internet APN, software update, etc. I've spoken to Vodafone technical, HTC technical, even asked my dog !!!

If anyone has nay idea why I get this fault I would appreciate it greatly.

Bought this phone on last sunday and was proud enough to show it to my friend on thursday who managed to drop it for the first time(4 days old).
Outcome: Phone slipped trough hes hands in about 5 seconds after holding it, landing on its plastic part on the upper left corner which somehow managed scatter the whole touch screen!(drop was about half meter or a bit less of a height, and landed on ceramic surface)

My mobile network provider sent the device to Latvia, and they told me that they will probably just return it in the same condition after 2 weeks. :cry:


By the way... My last smartphone was Sony Xperia Sola, and ive droped it many times on the driveway, landing directly on its screen and never had a broken touch screen issue.

I've got my HTC 8S a while ago, since January this year. I haven't gotten any notable problems with this device, but last night while I was browsing I saw a lot of green and red dots on my screen. So I searched on the internet and I found out that my 8S has a lot of dead subpixels. :cry: I immediatly contacted HTC, but they say there must have been "some external pressure" on the screen and that caused the dead subpixels, they won't pay for it. Called HTC and the very nice man I spoke to (no sarcasm, the guy was awesome) made me try a bunch of things with the volume button, the power button for a minute, etc. No luck, it just kept vibrating and the screen remained black. Even the orange/green light that shows when it's charging was off.

So the man told me to wait until the battery ran out and to plug it in see if it came back to life. So this morning I plug it in and it recusitated!

I'm quite happy but afraid that something broke or that something's wrong with my phone.

Did this happen to anyone else ever? Should I keep the phone and hope that it remains ok or try to get it exchanged/repaired?
