Where exactly do I locate the "find" or "search" function if I'm looking for apps in the surface pro store? The layout of the store is cool, but there is no obvious search box. When you click on the title of the "entertainment" or "social" categories, you get helpful sort functions, price, low to high and vice versa, but no search box. There is, no doubt, something obvious I'm missing and any help would be appreciated.

While I'm at it, does someone have an audio podcast app to recommend? Thanks!

I just noticed today that my fn key has been reversed, as in the top row of keys function as F1 - F12 without having to press the fn key to toggle it. So for example, instead of pressing fn+mute to trigger F1, pressing fn+mute mutes the surface.

I know some of you may actually prefer this, but I preferred it when the top row of keys function as per what is printed on they keys. I've restarted my surface multiple times, so it's not a fluke. I'm not sure if the last update had caused this.

Anyone else noticed this? Any ideas how to reverse it back?

So I'm in college. I have a 3yr old Dell Inspiron laptop. It works just fine. I heard about the Surface tablets and I started to really want one. However, I know little about what is actually good out there. I'm not sure whether or not I want to RT or the Pro. I'm not planning to replace my laptop with it. I just want it so I have something lighter to carry around with me. I would have Word so I can do homework and stuff on the go. And I'd use it for entertainment as well, like games and netflix. So which would be better?

Excited...picking up a Galaxy S4 32gb tomorrow to do a straight trade with a guy for his 64gb Surface Pro with type cover (I'm more than happy with my Lumia 920 and Xperia Z phone wise). Wanted a surface ever since I saw the announcement, always figured I'd get the RT since its cheaper but Pro it is. Looking forward to having an up to date windows system now. Have an old Acer Extensa 4220 laptop (1.7ghz, 2gb ram) that I just got running after a motherboard replacement.

Any major tips or tricks I should read up on before I get it? I will of course want to clear as much space as I can, and throw my 32gb microsd card in (no 64gb one yet)

Hi

In a dilemma. I currently have a DELL XPS 15 laptop running Window 8 and i5 processor running on a 9 cell battery. I like my laptop but it is heavy , bulky and given the fact I travel a lot it is becoming way too cumbersome to carry and handle.

I a mixed user. Being in the management sector , my main work includes a lot of word document , ppt , browsing and presenting it to a group of people. But I am also a hobbyists programmer. Develop quite few apps in Visuals studio , eclipse android . So this means I am looking for both productivity and portability at the same time.

My ideal choice is the Surface Pro but am confused for the following :

1) am from India where Surface Pro is taking forever to come. I am travelling to Europe in few days so may be I can pick up a piece there. Concerned more about after sales service

2) Specifications: there is always the fact that Surface Pro 2 would be better than the present and now that I have waited 6 months , should I wait more. ?

Bit confused. Any friendly advice would be helpful :)

Hey every -- Just picked-up my new Surface Pro and absolutely love it.

I do have one challenge. There were 15 preinstalled apps that needed to be updated out of the box. When I click on the Store tile I can see the usual list of apps to be updated and am able to select download updates. At that point the usual “pending” label appears next to each app. Unfortunately, that’s all that happens. I never get the standard transition from “pending” to “downloading” to “updating”; the apps just sit at “pending.” I’ve let it sit for hours, tried rebooting, etc., but nothing changes. All 15 apps are frozen at “pending.” This also means I am unable to download other apps from the Store because they just sit at the end of the download list.

Any thoughts or recommendations?

Thanks!

Here's the situation, basically my work is offering me compensation on the 64 GB model. All in all with a touch or type keyboard, I'm looking at 50% off. I'm in desperate need of a PC, given our house uses mostly Apple products. The Lumia 920 just does not do well with my MBP in regards to syncing. However, I do have some questions, because I'm not sure if I want this or if I should just get a true blue laptop instead. I plan on using this mainly for travel/work laptop, but will be storing some things here and there for entertainment purposes.

1. Given the fact you only get 29 GB to actually use (if I'm correct), how has everyone fared with that? Whether it's a game or two to simply putting your media on there.

2. Is the Surface Pro the one people complain about the charger or is that the RT?

3. Compared to other tablets, how does it feel using it vertically?

4. The Verge review complained how the kickstand isn't very good when it comes to resting on your lap. This would be a primary position when using the Surface. Is this true?

5. Any known bugs or issues?

6. Is it worth it?

Thanks!

my apologies in advance if this has been addressed in another thread.
but since owning the Pro on its release I have always been having wifi issues, particularly when waking it up from sleep.
I ALWAYS have to manually reconnect it in order for it to work.

when waking up, it says "connecting" but it always fails. and only works once I retry.
I know there was an update regarding wifi but it did not solve this problem. I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing this and if you've found a way to fix.

it's been a while now since having the Pro and it's getting a little ridiculous having to manually connect to wifi everytime I use it in my own home.

thanks.
