Firstly I love how this site give me news not only about Windows Phone but anything Microsoft and I'm all for the Microsoft ecosystem. I am not really much of a forum kind of guy (I don't even get on troll site reddit) but I want to be more of a forum guy and really be a viral figure in the future of not only gaming but social media. I am probably not making any sense right now and didn't even read the forum rules or what the welcome post should look like. I am looking for friends who have Windows 8, xbox, and Windows Phones and maybe on Steam.

Hey everyone! I've just registered here, my name is Agust�n and I'm from Chile. I'm a technology lover and found this forum in an article from Nokia's blog. I wanted to join because I don't really interact with people like me so I thought I could fit in this place. My Windows Phone is a Nokia Lumia 710, I've owned it for 1 year already and I love it. I was disappointed about not getting WP8, but when my contract is up I'll probably get one of the WP8 Lumias, for now I'm pretty satisfied with my phone. I also own an LG Optimus L5 with Android as a secondary phone because it has more games, but the Lumia does almost everything I want. So that's about it, hope I'm welcome here! :)

First time browser on this site, was in vzw yesterday and my wife and I checked out the 8x and 928, also the i5. Sheer liked the size of the 8x and I like the 928 better. Hope to find some good comparisons and tips here. Never had a windows phone before. Started with BlackBerry and currently on sg3.

Suggestions?

Goodmorning, I am Emmanuel from Ghana. I am a fresh student of phone technician. I have no experience yet .
Currently i don't have cash to get dongles to work on phones, flash, unlock etc , phones like nokia, samsung, sony ericsoon etc
Does anyone knows how i can go about getting a crash dongle to work with for now
or if there is any alternative .. Please kindly let me know

Hello everyone,

My name is DJ. Longtime Windows Phone user here, through many generations. I've owned an HTC Tilt running Windows Phone 5, an HTC Tilt II running Windows Phone 6, an HTC Fuze running Windows Phone 6.1, an HTC HD7 running Windows Phone 7 followed by Mango and finally an HTC Titan running Mango and now hacked running Windows Phone 7.8. I love my Windows Phone. I think it's the best operating system out there, although the lack of apps is annoying. I drive 60,000+ miles per year for work and have to use my work issued iPhone to run some of my favorite driving apps, like Waze, Escort Live!, etc.

OK, here's my question:

I want a Windows 8 phone, but don't want to go down in screen size. So, are there any rumors of a larger screen Windows 8 phones coming anytime soon? I love my 4.7" screen. The largest Windows 8 phone screen I've seen is Nokia's 4.5".

Hey guys (and gals),

I've been with the Mobile Nations team for about a month now and realized that I have yet to step into the forums and say hello.
My name is Michael Archambault and I've been a tech geek since I was about three years old. I went through a ton of �geek community� phases; I was a Linux guy for a while, I had multiple MacBook Pros in the past, and I owned a handful of Windows gaming rigs. After using a few Linux distros, OS X, and Windows 7 � I decided the Microsoft ecosystem was the place for me.

Originally I loved Windows� ability to play a never ending list of videogames and the ability to create a custom built gaming rig, but then I moved to a console (Xbox 360) and picked up an Ultrabook for long battery life. I�m still a Windows guy to this day though; I love the beautiful and creative machines being released by various OEMs. Between you, me, and everyone else here � I find grey Macbooks with OS X extremely boring (give me an awesomely red colored touch-screen Ultrabook hybrid that flips and twirls, with a colorful interface thrown on top).

I�ll be outright and say that my favorite OEM is Lenovo (at the moment); I�m a huge ThinkPad fan and as a journalist, the keyboard is perfect for me. I always keep my eye on other OEMS though; too much �coolness� happening to miss out on anything.

My gadget arsenal right now is a red Nokia Lumia 920 with WP8, a ThinkPad X1 Carbon running Windows 8 Pro (non-touch� sadly), and a Microsoft Surface RT 64 GB. I also have an Xbox 360 Slim with Kinect and a Wii U.

Hey short time windows phone user here and I love it. Way better for me than iOS and Android.

Only bad thing is after two weeks with the phone a freak fall from about 4 inches high cracked the screen and it's subsquently spidered the entire screen making the phone nearly worthless to me.

Just checking here to see if I can't find a good deal on a 928 or another 8x.

Hey Guys,

Just joined the Windows Phone world after using every iPhone available here in Australia from 3G to 5. I just couldn't put up with the poor battery life on the iPhone 5 anymore, I'd be lucky to get 3-4 hours out of it. Saw the Lumia 920 outright for $488 AUD with a free wireless charging pad, it was cheap and I've wanted to give WinPhone a whirl for a whirl so I pulled the trigger on a yellow one. First one I picked up was faulty (not the greatest start) and failed to recognise any SIM card. it would just display an invalid or missing SIM error. The screen also had a fairly hectic flicker when brightness was high, probably a dodgy backlight. The store was really helpful and organised to have more stock shipped in from another store (they were out of yellows) to replace mine. So a few days later I'm back on deck and my new 920 isn't displaying any of the issues of the previous one.

I haven't really noticed an "appgap" issue as all I used on my iPhone was Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. These have been replaced quite well with Facebook Beta, Rowi and Instance. The one thing I'm missing though is iMessage, I liked having the same conversation across all my devices as most of my friends use iPhones. I usually have my iPad on me anyway so I'll probably use that as a messaging device for the time being.

I have noticed that the radios seem to be somewhat slower on the Lumia 920 than my iPhone 5 or iPad. Speedtest.net results over cellular are down to about 10Mbps on the Lumia as opposed to 20Mbps on the iPhone and iPad (same carrier, tested in same location, 4G enabled on all) and WiFi results are down to about 13Mbps on the Lumia as opposed to 21Mbps on the iPhone and iPad. Anyone else seen similar things? It could just be that the speedtest.net app for WinPhone is poorly written.

Anyways after that long winded introduction, I'd just like to say hey and I look forward to being part of the community.

I've sold my Galaxy Nexus. Android is great in a lot of ways...lacking in others. I'm over it. Time for something new.

After agonizing over whether to go Windows Phone or BlackBerry and doing a ton of research, including reading over WPC forums, I've ordered a Lumia 521.

I figure for $130 I'm not taking a huge risk, and it looks like a great phone for the price.

If I hate WP8, I can sell the 521 and go with something else. If I love it, I'll probably eventually upgrade to a Lumia 928. I'm hoping that's the case, because I think of all the mobile platforms out there, Windows Phone has the most potential.

I'm looking forward to continued participation in this great community!

Longtime android user debating taking the plunge...

Hey all, a quick intro I've been a long time user of android (Nexus One to Nexus S to Galaxy Nexus -- <3 the nexus line) and am starting to reach that stage where I'm willing to try something new. I recently visited the brand new Microsoft Store that opened up at the Yorkdale shopping center in Toronto, and tested the Lumia 920s there. I'd done some research beforehand and was aware that the specifications on the handset were very similar to what I ran on my current Galaxy Nexus (especially since I'd overclocked my dual core to 1.5, same as the Lumia). What shocked me was how fluid the experience was on the Lumia. Even with the butter update, transitions still could have the odd stutter here and there, especially when in the app drawer sidescrolling. I actually work for one of the Big 3 telecoms here in Canada, and when I told my co-workers I was seriously considering a WP8 device, most either were too shocked to say anything, or just laughed outright. I've played with the GS4. Great phone, nothing new from Android though. My whole family uses iOS, so I'm familiar there as well. WP8, it's like jumping into open water in an undiscovered part of the world; What lies beneath? NO idea. I don't think enough people have given it a fair enough try before judging the windows OS.

I'd like to consider myself somewhat tech savvy, especially computer wise (on tech blogs daily, always build my own rigs, staying up to date on events like WWDC, Google I/O, etc) and it's kind of embarrassing to admit I have literally no experience with WP8. I've read review site after review site as well as watched several vids on youtube for unbox and reviews. I know this being a WP8 site, the criticism may not be as harsh, but still, I'm more than willing to hear people's opinions on the device; be it pro or con.

My main reason for swapping? A good camera is one of my most important features, and the Lumia 920s just seems outstanding; especially when compared to the lackluster camera on my Nexus.

Any and all posts are welcome, just another user curious about the WP8 experience :)

Hey Guys just to introduce myself im Taz from the Uk and as of yesterday I am now the proud owner of a Nokia Lumia 720. Funny but i had gone out with the intention of getting a Blackberry Z10 but was so impressed with the 720 I signed up. I only have one problem and thats my PC runs windows 7 so can only get Zune which my Wife uses for her Lumia 800 and Zune wont reconise my phone - so how can I sync my 720 with my PC?

I'm a Windows Phone Convert!

In a couple days of use, I'm just in awe of WP8, Microsoft has implemented alot of features that brings me back to the days of WebOS (I missed my Palm Pixi Plus), like the People Hub and their Messaging Hub! Any apps that you would recommend?
