When Mango Beta is released, who all will get it. Will all devs who paid the 99.00 fee get it?

Yeah, I also saw that. I wonder what's the process of filtering out "serious" devs. Maybe I'm serious, but suck at it it, and haven't produced anything yet.

I thought the serious dev comment had to do with handing out Mango dev phones, not releasing a beta.

I'm too lazy to pull up the tweet, but "serious" devs release apps and reach out to Microsoft; part of which I'm assuming means being active in their local MS dev groups. And yeah, it has to do with handing out Mango dev hardware. I haven't seen anything pertaining to releasing a beta. Pity; I'd get a second Focus just to try it.

They must gonna hand out Focus' preloaded with mango, its the only phone i see with it. . From Engadget, pcnow, CNET... They all using a Samsung focus.

Once installed, look for Windows Phone Developer Tools/Windows Phone Developer Registration. Have your phone plugged in first. Enter your Live ID and the cert will get loaded onto your device.

No. I just did the same thing. And it said to wait for verification. I went ahead and tried it, and it worked.

I'm jealous! I wonder how it works... suppose I find someone who will add me to their dev account (I'll even pay), would they need my phone or could I do everything at home?

If you have a previous unlocked phone, you don't need a dev account. It never once asked for my dev info. Go figure.

I rather be safe. Saw some news that if anything goes wrong, they won't support my bricked device.

Also, you need to revert back to the pre-mango to get the official mango from what I read.

There's a step in teh beginning of the update process that back ups the phone first, then updates it. It gives a warning to put this backup someone safe.

I got validated by geotrust, woohoo, now just hope I get an invite to the mango beta, I have my phone registered now too. Man I hope I get that email today
