Verizon's lack of group text support and the Lumia 920 have me mulling a switch to ATT. I have always been a big proponent of Verizon, but now I'm wondering if there is really that much difference. Att has 4G in all the cities I visit frequently and I like the idea of having the hspa+ as a backup rather than 3g. Does anyone have any input? The family plans for 1 person are almost identical so the cost isn't really an issue. I'm really just concerned about reception. Although my Verizon friends arent going to be happy that I won't count as mobile to mobile any more. Thanks and happy thanksgiving

AT&T frequently gets a bad rap, but as far as my experiences are concerned they've got the best network where I go, they've got far and away the best support and service that I've seen, and they seem to get all the good exclusives like the iPhone and the Lumia 920.
All that said, I might just be a bit biased because Verizon screwed me around quite a bit when I was using them, but that was... 5 or 6 years ago. - 01-06-2013, 11:34 PM #3
AT&T got rated the worst carrier in the country. So. Yeah.

Depends on where you live. At&t works great where I live. Where as t-mobile gets absolutely no reception and Verizon's is spotty at best.

You can use this site to see exactly how many towers each carrier has in your area: CellReception.com

it will depends on how strong is the coverage in your area, I have been with AT&T for more than 10 years (Cingular), I never have a to complain about the service or reception. LTE is super fast and reliable where I live, and I dont imaging my self not able to talk and surf at the same time.

Att gets very nice windows phones as exclusives but there timing on update releases are very long. If you do or already did switch to Att then go with a Nokia there very nice, they have better services like navigation and they also push the Carrier to push updates around there release time for unlocked phones. Samsung has also stepped in and said they will make sure the updates like windows phone 7.8 will hit all phones, but htc has not said a word which is why I will never buy a phone from them again.
